About me

Nicole is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern who values building positive relationships with clients, showing compassion and empathy. What brought Nicole into the counseling profession is her love of meeting people where they are in some of the most challenging situations they walk through. Her experience in the practice of counseling began at the Indiana Wesleyan University Graduate Counseling Center in Marion. She has worked with clients with borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, ambiguous grief, and eating disorders. In addition to her experience as a student, she has worked as a psychiatric technician with clients with eating disorders in inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization, where she observed the challenges that eating disorders cause.

Nicole is interested in working primarily with adults who experience eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders and is committed to meeting clients where they are on their journey whether they are brand new to counseling or they have worked with clinicians before. Nicole primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and trauma therapy. She is passionate about lifelong learning- specifically in mental health and trauma work.

Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry from Taylor University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University. Outside of her role as an intern, Nicole enjoys spending time with her dog, listening to audiobooks, and volunteering in her community.
