About me

I am experienced social worker that specializes in grief, women's issues and life transitions.

In my experience people struggle to find ways to process their grief, we as a country do not handle grief well (in my opinion). Grief is part of life and we encounter it not only in death but in everyday life transitions (menopause, chronic illness or end of a relationships etc.). When we don't take the time to process that loss or we feel we don't have the right to feel the loss we are experiencing, that grief remains with us and can cause all sorts of symptoms (anxiety, depression, stomach aches, headaches, etc.). I also find that women's issues are another topic we are not good at in this country. Women go through so many life transitions (grown children, divorce, menopause, etc.) throughout their lifespan. I feel it is important to process these transitions and changes in a healthy direct way, instead of hiding things and feeling ashamed. Life is messy, it wouldn't be a life if it wasn't, but we don't have to accept that there is nothing that can be done to make life easier. Therapy is a way to do this in a kind, safe, nonjudgmental space.
