About me

ntering into therapy is, in my view, a way to courageously pursue life according to your deepest nature and desire, no matter what specific experiences, stressors, and forms of suffering have gotten your attention. I am passionate about joining and supporting you in this endeavor.
I view my role as offering a deep presence and caring attention in order to create with you a relational, reflective space in which both of us attend to your full experience—past and present, in your mind, emotions, and body—with awareness, care, and wisdom to facilitate organic change, not only to relieve suffering and change unhelpful patterns, but to truly know yourself and flourish as the unique and fully interconnected being that you are.

In my work I seek to embody awareness, curiosity, courage, and care, and I bring a continually evolving sense of how our embodied psyches develop and operate, based prominently on the psychoanalytic tradition, interpersonal psychology, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems theory, and the Enneagram tradition. I also bring the perspective that we are deeply interconnected not only with those we have close bonds with but also with our communities, cultures, other forms of life, and the whole earth, and that in this interconnection we each have a unique nature and vocation that is intelligently and purposefully related to the whole.
I work with adults, teens, and couples. Some of the most common presenting areas of focus for people I work with are mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar; trauma and abuse, especially as related to family of origin; relationship challenges, such as in intimate partnerships, friendships, as well as social isolation and inhibition; struggles with identity, such as in categories of sexuality, gender, culture, and race; and questions of vocation, occupation, and place in community.
