About me
I received my doctorate in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech in 2004 and was awarded a 5 year post-doc research fellowship in the Molecular Neuropsychiatry Branch at the National Institute On Drug Abuse (NIDA) in Baltimore, Maryland examining the underlying cellular and molecular mechanism associated with drug addiction. By integrating neuroscience knowledge into clinical practice, I have developed a deeper understanding of the neurological basis of their mental and behavioral health concerns. For the past two decades, I have worked with children and families in diverse settings, including community-based mental health rehabilitation and private practice.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) trained in EMDR, my practice is rooted in a mind-body-brain approach to emotional healing. This holistic philosophy aims to create a supportive environment that facilitates deep, lasting recovery from the effects of trauma by addressing its psychological, physical, and neurological impacts
