About me
I'm a psychiatrist practicing for 10+ years and a psychoanalyst in training offering therapy, psychoanalysis and medication management.
Sometimes you know something is not quite right, but you don't know what it is. You may feel anxious, depressed, have trouble sleeping or concentrating, feel overwhelmed, or find that relationships or daily life are becoming harder to manage. You may be left wondering: Why can't I do this alone? Is this my fault? Do I need medications or therapy? In my experience, we all need help from time to time. I help patients make sense of these difficulties and determine what kind of treatment is most helpful. Often, we find that there are unaddressed areas that affect our lives, making diagnoses inadequate and treatments fall short.
As a psychodynamic psychiatrist, I provide evaluations, psychotherapy and medications while considering your history, personality, relationships, and circumstances. Looking beyond symptoms and diagnoses helps us use treatment modalities in a thoughtful way; considering how treatment affects not only symptoms but how you feel, function, and relate to others.
I have been practicing psychiatry since 2015. I believe in the importance of combining psychotherapy with medications because of the benefits that can have, especially for cases that are deemed "treatment resistant". I am accepting new patients both in person and by telehealth.
Seeking psychiatric care can feel difficult, especially if you have felt dismissed or misunderstood in the past. My psychoanalytic training has taught me the value of listening closely and taking time to understand what may not be immediately apparent. We can begin by listening carefully to what is happening and figuring out the next step together. You can expect us to talk about what your expectations and fears about treatment are. I hope to establish a safe environment for you where you can feel comfortable telling me not only when things are good but also when things are not going the way you want them.
Please note I only accept self-pay and I am unable to accept any patient on Medicare or Medicaid even if they choose to self-pay.
