About me

I am practicing therapy as a student intern while completing my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. I work with all populations and mental health concerns.

Monica is a counseling student intern in Minnesota. She works with client’s of all demographics, ages, and backgrounds. Many of Monica’s clients come in when they have reached a specific turning point in their lives and would like to seek treatment. She is particularly passionate about serving individuals who have an interest in many aspects of mental health and want to learn and grow in their lives.
Monica is trained in utilizing an eclectic approach, which uses techniques and styles from many different theoretical orientations of therapy. In session, she focuses on meeting clients where they are and working with them to find goals that they want to accomplish out of therapy and how to best reach them. This approach supports clients to become independent and maintain stable mental health.
When a client first comes in, she starts an assessment process to build an understanding of some of the client’s background and history. Monica is dedicated to providing a relationship that strives to create a warm, reliable environment where you feel secure in sharing your deepest concerns, knowing confidentiality is paramount.
Monica received her undergraduate in behavioral sciences and masters degree in psychology from Liberty University. She is currently pursuing her final masters program in clinical mental health counseling with Liberty University. She is gaining experience at Secure Base Counseling Center for her practicum and internships which enables her to apply her skills learned in school to the clinical atmosphere.
