About me

I am a coaching psychologist who provides executive coaching for leaders with ADHD and high-functioning autism.

Dr. Mira Brancu is a strategic partner to executives and their teams wanting to lead well today and better navigate tomorrow. She’s the CEO and Founder of Brancu & Associates, a leadership, team, and organization consulting firm that has provided streamlined advising and tailored growth tools to more than 150 leaders, and hundreds more of their team members, equipping them to manage current challenges and better handle future ones. To this work, Mira brings 20+ years of experience in academia and healthcare, and an award-winning career in multiple leadership roles at the US Department of Veterans Affairs, one of the largest organizations in the United States.

As a consulting psychologist, Mira has spoken for thousands, spent years serving as an Associate Professor for Duke University’s School of Medicine and an Associate Editor of the Consulting Psychology Journal, and become a regular contributor to the national publication, Psychology Today. In 2020, she co-authored the acclaimed book for emerging leaders needing to navigate complex systems, Millennials’ Guide to Workplace Politics: What No One Ever Told Your About Power and Influence. And with Mira’s continued commitment to advocacy and empowerment of women’s leadership and diverse leadership, her company received the 2021 Corporate Philanthropy Award from Triangle Business Journal. Mira also serves on multiple advisory boards in alignment with these social justice values.

With deep education in leadership and organization development, Mira is a licensed psychologist who holds a PhD in clinical psychology, a Master’s degree in counseling, and certificates in business essentials; diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI); Lean Six Sigma; and Transformational and Mentor Coaching.

Mira became a believer in the power of human behavior after she emigrated from Romania to the United States at just six years-old and grew up seeing that there’s so much more to communication than just words. She’s passionate about helping others better understand themselves and those they work with. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, two children, and an old pandemic-adopted cat named Pug. When they are not exploring the local scene, they enjoy watching comedy, murder mysteries, Shark Tank, home improvement, and cooking shows.
