About this therapist Minerva King, LCSW:
This trauma therapist is more than just a highly skilled professional—she is someone who truly understands the weight of trauma, not only through years of clinical expertise but also through her own lived experience. "I felt small." "I felt invisible." "I had no voice." "I felt completely powerless". Her deep empathy and unwavering commitment to her clients come from a place of genuine understanding, making her a trusted guide on the path to healing.
Mrs. King founded a one stop shop Non-Profit Behavioral Health Organization in 2008. As an Executive Director she managed 12 therapist, 5 collaborating case manager, 3 psychiatrist and a full administrative staff. After a decade of successfully treating first responders, victims of human trafficking, youth and their families, it was evident that the majority of cases had an undertone of trauma. According to National Center for PTSD, SAMHSA and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration: One study found that 61% of patients with first-episode depression and 51% with recurrent depression reported childhood or recent trauma; Another study found that between 48 and 98 percent of clients in public mental health settings reported a history of at least one traumatic event; Research suggests that lifetime interpersonal trauma rates could be as high as 40% and reaching 70% in women.
With nearly two decades of experience, Minerva King, LCSW is dedicating her career to helping individuals break free from the lasting effects of trauma, regain emotional balance, and build fulfilling relationships. A graduate with honors from Florida Atlantic University, with multiple certifications, she specializes in working with both adults and adolescents offering evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs.
