About me

I am an experienced psychotherapist who is dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults cope with ADHD, anxiety, and stress management.

I’m Michaela Donohue, LCSW, a licensed therapist who believes therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to be themselves throughout the therapeutic process.

I work with children, adolescents, and young adults who may be experiencing challenges such as ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, executive functioning delays, anxiety, burnout, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, stress management issues, parenting stress, and relationship challenges.

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and individualized, meeting each client where they are in the present moment. I draw from a variety of evidence-based and experiential modalities, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, executive functioning skills building, exploratory questioning, play therapy, and psychodynamic techniques. Sessions are flexible and responsive, allowing treatment to be shaped by each client’s unique needs and strengths.

I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals and have experience providing parent training and support. I value authenticity and believe that everyone deserves to feel seen and heard as they truly are. In our work together, I offer a comfortable and accepting environment where clients can express themselves in ways that feel natural—whether through conversation, movement, creativity, or other forms of expression.

During the first session, we focus on getting to know you as a whole person. Humans are complex, and understanding your experiences, background, and current concerns helps guide meaningful treatment. Ongoing sessions are where the therapeutic process deepens, with the therapeutic relationship serving as the foundation. I allow this relationship to develop at a pace that feels safe and comfortable, recognizing that therapy looks different for everyone.

If you’re looking for a therapist who offers compassionate, individualized, and neurodiversity-affirming care, I welcome the opportunity to connect.
