About me
Life can be such a challenge especially if we find ourselves walking our path alone. On this journey, my hope is to help guide and provide skill training that will help you increase confidence, self-worth, and self-empowerment. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control and we just want to make sense of it all or best manage our emotions.
My approach to counseling is person-centered, family systems, and attachment-focused allowing individuals to explore their inner self, healing their mind, body, and soul. My training and the modalities I use are evidence-based and successfully aid the healing process for individuals and families. This includes EMDR (certified), CBT (certified), Theraplay (Level 2 trained/ Group trained), Gottman's Couples Therapy (Level 3), Emotional Focused Therapy, ACT, and more. I am primarily your guide sharing insights and allowing growth and self-empowerment. I believe that life's challenges are best remedied through community and family support and never alone. We all are part of a bigger whole and while we can work on shifting what's in our control, lasting change and healing come from a systemic or family approach using integrative healing practices that address the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
My background includes work in law enforcement and emergency services, intense work in a residential setting for teens, and younger children who have faced childhood traumas clinical work at a women’s shelter, volunteer work at Native Hawaiian non-profits, volunteer work as a pastoral counselor, and youth and men’s group leader. I also have enjoyed recent opportunities to serve and support our local first responders and veterans in both crisis and recovery.
