About me
Therapy is not about fixing you—it’s about walking with you as you reclaim your voice, your confidence, and your peace. I am a fully licensed therapist who is willing to listen and build a plan with you to make meaningful changes.
I’m Mercedes, a licensed mental health counselor and the founder of Lemon Tree Counseling and Therapy. I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, families navigating behavioral challenges, and clients healing from trauma, self-harm, or suicidality. My practice is rooted in the belief that healing happens in a space that is respectful, consistent, and safe—a space where you can show up authentically and be met with compassion, not judgment.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation and safety, and integrate trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients process painful experiences and rewrite their stories. I also teach adaptive living skills to individuals with ADHD, helping them build systems that align with their strengths and needs.
In family therapy, I work collaboratively to reduce conflict, improve communication, and support behavioral change in children and teens. Whether you're a parent feeling overwhelmed or a young adult trying to break free from cycles of crisis. Emotion Focused Family or Couples therapy also is used to heal attachment wounds and regain trust. I’m here to help you move toward stability, confidence, and lasting change.
I offer in-person sessions in South Seattle and virtual therapy across Washington State. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally responsive, and deeply committed to honoring your lived experience. People of all races, nationalities, and background are welcome to reach out and schedule a consultation to get to know me better before making any decisions.
