About me
I specialize in helping clients heal from trauma and restore an optimal relationship to self and to the world. I am dedicated to helping clients attain a greater sense of well-being and enjoy more satisfying relationships to themselves and others through healing and self-discovery.
Traumatic experience is a fact of life, but it doesn't need to define our lives. Working through difficult life problems can be more effective and rewarding with caring, supportive guidance. Together, we can explore the patterns that come from developmental trauma, personal or work relationships, and any other sources, and find greater safety in feeling our more authentic selves.
I approach counseling as a collaborative relationship to raise self-awareness, increase self-compassion, and develop skillful interpersonal communications. I believe that by resolving past trauma clients may find relief from unhelpful emotional and relational patterns and find more ease and harmony in their own lives.
My work with clients is a blend of therapeutic styles that is tailored to the needs of the individual. I work with adolescents from age 14 years, and with adults. I specialize in treating individuals impacted by childhood, generational or other trauma and the resultant emotional difficulties, and in treating the special issues facing those in adolescence.
I have had advanced training/certification in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic approaches, as well as mindfulness, non-violent (or compassionate) communication. We may integrate these modes, which are proven to support healing and increase wellbeing.
I offer both in-person and virtual sessions for Washington clients, and work virtually with clients in Oregon. All of my virtual sessions are conducted online via HIPPA-compliant Telehealth. I have offices hours Tuesdays through Fridays, scheduling morning, afternoon and early evening times.
