Mayra Garcia, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My name is Mayra Garcia and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Southern California and working with clients statewide via telehealth and in person session. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I specialize in depression, anxiety, stress, grief and trauma. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, trauma-focused, and EMDR modalities to help my clients develop a better understanding of themselves and guide them through their healing process. I provide services in English and Spanish.

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I implement the whole-person approach and meet clients where they are at. As a result, I use a combination of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, trauma-focused and EMDR to better support my clients. I have always naturally been drawn to helping people through difficult times. I enjoy seeing individuals find their inner strength and overcome adversities. During the first session together, we will focus on discussing how you've been feeling recently, and I will ask questions to better understand what is impacting the way you feel. The first session is about us building an initial connection and finding a starting point for therapy journey. Each individual is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you.
