About me
I am a therapist that works with adolescents and adults who have endured trauma and various other mental health issues that can slow someone down. I am dedicated to the client in reaching their full potential. It is not easy, but it can get easier! I work with anger, depression, and the various anxiety disorders. Please call to find out and ask any questions.
Hi, my name is Matt Jones and I would like to congratulate you on taking this first step to receiving counseling. It is a big step into helping yourself become a better you. I invite you to contact me with any question that you may have. It is hard talking about your issues and problems, but I will be attentively listening and help you with your potential.
I have 9 years of experience providing services to a mixed population of adolescent and adults. My specialties are in trauma, anger management men's issues, and a variety of other diagnoses. I believe that my greatest gifts is to build trust through connection. It is imperative to provide an empathetic ear and allow the client to feel heard and valued.
For me, the ideal client comes motivated and seeking change in their life. The focus is on the client and what they would like to change. It could be relationship issues, communication, self-esteem/self-confidence, or a variety of other issues, as long as they are willing to change things. I think most clients may come in with a misunderstanding that we are responsible for their change, in actuality it is they who use the tools given. The client should be allowed to establish their own goals, big or small. The client is usually in a need of support, listening, and understanding. Change is powerful and up to the client.
One of the most important aspects of therapy is building the therapeutic relationship with increased understanding or what can and can't happen. It meant to provide a safe space with a trusted person that is there to help you and to give you some guidance and perspective of things that may be known of are still in the shadows. Not all humans feel safe and that will inhibit true growth for them. Some times they just need some help.
I do virtual work because of the ease and comfort of working from anywhere at anytime if needed. My schedule is flexible and I offer early morning appointments to late afternoons. I am currently accepting ne patients for Monday through Friday sessions from 7 am to 5 pm. I try to make therapy as easy and affordable as can be for the client. I offer cash pay and I also take a variety of insurances. I offer a free phone consult to meet and see if we are the right fit for each other. Give me a call and let's see what is troubling and what can be done.
