About me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and a National Certified Counselor who helps adults navigate life’s challenges with empathy, practical tools, and support.

At Moonwell Therapy, my mission is simple yet deeply personal: to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported as you navigate the challenges of your life. I believe therapy is more than just talking about struggles—it’s about rediscovering your voice, reclaiming your strengths, and finding the clarity to step into the life you were meant to live.

My name is Marlenny Luna, LMHC, NCC, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor offering virtual counseling across New York. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside individuals through moments of anxiety, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. Each story I’ve heard has affirmed my belief that, even in our hardest seasons, we carry within us the ability to heal and grow. Sometimes, all it takes is the right space and the right support to help us reconnect with that inner strength.

My Approach to Therapy
I view therapy as a collaborative journey. You bring your lived experiences, your pain, and your hopes, and I bring compassionate guidance, professional expertise, and practical tools. Together, we work toward building a life where you feel more grounded, more empowered, and more in touch with yourself.

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices while always honoring your unique story and cultural background. I draw from a blend of modalities—including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and strength-based counseling—to tailor our sessions to what works best for you. I also believe deeply in the importance of culturally aware and nonjudgmental care. Your story, your values, and your identity matter here, and they will always be respected.

What You Can Expect
Therapy with me is not about rushing or “fixing” you. It’s about creating a safe space to pause, reflect, and slowly untangle the parts of life that feel heavy. You may be carrying anxiety that makes it hard to rest, grief that feels endless, or old wounds that still echo in your daily life. You may be in the middle of a major life transition—adjusting to new roles, relationships, or circumstances—that leaves you unsure of where to turn. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone.

Our sessions will be a place where you can bring your most difficult feelings and experiences without fear of judgment. I will meet you with compassion and curiosity, asking not only what hurts but also what gives you strength. Sometimes those strengths are hidden beneath layers of pain or doubt, but together, we will work to uncover them. My hope is that you leave each session feeling a little more supported, a little more capable, and a little more connected to yourself.

Why I Do This Work
I chose this path because I truly want to make a difference in people’s lives. I believe that therapy has the power to be transformative, not only in moments of crisis but in the everyday journey of becoming who you are meant to be. I know how isolating it can feel to carry struggles silently, and I want every client I work with to know they are not alone. Helping people see their own resilience and guiding them toward self-compassion and confidence is at the heart of everything I do.

An Invitation
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re carrying something heavy. Maybe it’s anxiety that keeps you awake at night, grief that lingers, or stress that feels overwhelming. Maybe you’re simply tired of navigating life on your own and are longing for a space to exhale and be yourself without judgment. Wherever you find yourself, I want to invite you to take this step.

Therapy is not always easy—it takes courage to share the parts of yourself that feel the most fragile or hidden. But you don’t have to do it alone. I will walk beside you, offering compassion, perspective, and tools that help you create real and lasting change. My goal is not just to help you cope with challenges, but to empower you to discover your strengths, reclaim your worth, and embrace the life you deserve.

You deserve a space where your story is honored, your struggles are met with compassion, and your growth is possible. At Moonwell Therapy, you will not be defined by your pain—you will be supported in finding the resilience and clarity that have always been within you.

If you are ready to take that first step, I would be honored to walk with you.
