About me
I'm a trauma-informed, neurodivergent affirming therapist who helps ND clients through anxiety, emotional dysregulation and manage ADHD.
Hey there, I'm Mark Luzader, LCSW. Forget the stuffy therapist stereotype – with 25 years navigating the wild world of behavioral health, I've (nearly)seen it all.
One of the most powerful tools in my toolbox is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This evidence-based therapy helps folks process traumatic experiences, and I've become pretty adept at tailoring it for neurodiverse clients. Think of your brain as a messy attic – EMDR helps us sort through those cobweb-covered boxes filled with memories we'd rather forget and our accommodations do it in a way that generates less dysregulation.
With me, you get a real person. I won’t “uh huh” you to death. You get real feedback, real work and real connection.
Neurodivergence: Living the Life
I don't see neurodiversity as a problem to be fixed. Instead, I view it as something that we have to make some adjustments for because the world runs on a different operating system. A neurodivergent brain might process information differently, but that can also lead to incredible creativity, focus, and unique perspectives.
My sessions focus on helping you understand your neurotype and develop strategies to navigate a world that often prioritizes a single way of thinking. We don’t do shame for thinking, feeling or perceiving differently.
Adults Welcome (Diagnosed or Just Wondering)
While I have a deep understanding of childhood neurodiversity, my practice caters to adults as well. Whether you were diagnosed as a child or simply realized as an adult that your brain works a little differently, therapy can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth.
I help adults with ADHD learn to manage their time and attention, support autistic individuals in navigating social situations, and empower those with dyslexia to find new ways to learn. My approach is flexible, and I tailor each session to the specific needs of the person sitting across from me, which is you!
Looking for a Therapist Who Gets You?
Finding the right therapist can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. But for those seeking an EMDR-trained professional who celebrates neurodiversity and injects a little humor into the process, that's me! With 25 years of experience and a genuine appreciation for the unique ways people experience the world, I offer a safe space for you to heal, connect, and embrace your authentic self.
