About me
I believe in creating a space where people can feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported as they navigate through life's challenges.
Hello. I’m Marisa Mares, a bilingual psychologist (Native Spanish-Language Speaker) specializing in clinical neuropsychology. I have been in private practice since 2004, currently working primarily with adults and the elderly. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused, stuck, or disconnected, reaching out for help can be an important first step toward emotional well-being. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and my goal is to offer a supportive, compassionate space, where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable throughout the process. I’m trained in a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, and I focus on evidence-based interventions tailored to each person’s needs. At the same time, I believe in the innate wisdom and strengths you bring. Together, we can explore underlying causes of your concerns, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation, and build resilience. As a clinical neuropsychologist, my professional experience includes work with injured workers and patients in acute rehabilitation settings. This work has given me a holistic perspective on the complex ways cognitive, emotional, and medical factors interact in people’s lives. My practice values and respects individual and cultural differences. Services are available in English and Spanish, both in-person and via telehealth. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring different ethnic cuisines, visiting antique shops, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
