Marilyn Mejia-Pena, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 24 years of experience working in the trauma field with adults and children and my goal is to support families and communities along their healing process and strengthen resilience skills through my services.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker over 15 years and have been in the social work field for over 24 years gaining most of my experience working in with families impacted by trauma. Through the course of my career I have provided therapy services to children and adult survivors of domestic violence, child abuse and/or neglect, victims of crime, and families involved in the child welfare system. I'm a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional and therefore, utilize a variety of techniques and modalities to best assist my clients increase their coping and resilience skills. Some of the modalities I utilize include Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Solution Focus, Mindfulness, Art, Play, Narrative, and Somatic interventions. I am easy going, flexible and caring and work collaboratively with clients in developing goals and strategies for a successful healing journey. I am also certified as a Grief Counseling Specialist, ACEs Aware, and Triple P Provider. I love learning, and attend trainings to keep my practice current and informed on new treatment modalities to best support my clients.

I have my own practice-Resilience Social Work Inc. and provide trauma-informed services including consulting and training aside from individual therapy services.

I am fully bi-lingual in Spanish and English and offer services in either language.
