Marie Kedward

I’m an Accredited Social Worker and trauma-informed practitioner with nearly three decades of experience across aged care, dementia support, hospital, community and women’s services. I’ve worked within NSW Health, non-profit organisations and the Australian Public Service, supporting older people, carers and women experiencing domestic and family violence, trauma and complex life stressors. I support adults who are navigating relationship difficulties, family conflict, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, caring responsibilities, health changes, ageing, and other major life transitions. I have a particular interest in working with older adults, people living with dementia and their carers, and women who have experienced domestic and family violence or long-term stress.

My style is warm, grounded and collaborative. I use a person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, taking time to understand your story, your cultural context and what safety looks like for you. Together we’ll set realistic goals, build on your existing strengths and find practical strategies to move through what you’re facing.

I aim to create an open, non-judgemental space where you can speak freely about your thoughts and feelings – including things you may not feel able to say elsewhere. I believe it takes courage to reach out for support and to work toward a more fulfilling and hopeful life. My role is to walk alongside you, support you to make sense of what’s happening, and empower you to take the next steps in your journey.
