About me
Hello! My name is Maria, I am a bilingual registered clinician experienced with individuals of many different backgrounds and walks of life. I offer services in English and Spanish, and my approach as a therapist is driven by compassion, acceptance, and support. I specialize in clients struggling with stress, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, burnout, trauma, grief, and difficult life transitions. I practice using evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and person-centered treatment planning that are specialized to meet your own personal goals.
I am a Cuban immigrant and first-generation to attend college in my family. I spent my adolescence living in Miami, and recently relocated to Orlando. I am a cat mom and self-proclaimed amateur baker on my free time! I graduated from Florida International University, and gained experience working with families and teens with social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and ADHD. I also have experience working with adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. Additionally, I am Level 2 trained on Gottman's Couples Counseling method, and have experience working with hetero and same-sex couples. As a therapist, my goals are to be a guide to you as we navigate the best ways to cope with life's difficulties. I strive to create a judgement-free space where you feel comfortable to take the heavy burdens off your back and be your honest self. Being your counselor, I hope to provide you all the tools necessary to achieve your goals and aspirations, and to find the best ways to live a fulfilling life.
