About me
I have been trained as a therapist for over 20 years, even though I obtained my California license as Marriage and Family Therapist in 2017. I am trained in individuals with a mental ahealth disorder and/or a co-occurring disorders, meaning an added substance use/abuse disorder.
My specialty is helping clients find meaning and direction to live an effective life as they learn how to define and set their goals. I can provide tools and direction, but am more of a facilitator than a director, as the client knows best what they are seeking.
I have extensive background working in issues of child welfare, domestic violence, substance abuse, and trauma. I also enjoy doing couples therapy when both parties are committed to making changes.
If you are looking for relief from daily symptoms of depression and anxiety, I have been trained in various forms of therapy, cognitive, narrative, psychodynamic, and EMDR. If your problems are the result of complex trauma, I can be a good resource to help you better manage the issues that are affecting your relationships and other goals.
