About me
Dr. Maria Ferreras-Mendez is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), with a PH.D. in Psychology Christian World Views who started her career working in human services in 1994 in the City of Cambridge. For years she continues to work for non-profit organizations to help and support the community.
As an advocate for the population she serves, as well as adolescents, children, and adults with behavioral and mental health issues, Maria started Ferreras Counseling and Wellness to continue her mission to give back to her community and provide linguistically appropriate services.
We offer culturally and linguistically appropriate care in our practice. This means no matter your cultural or ethnic background, you will find a safe space within these walls. Ferreras understands that cultural and ethnic minorities face unique discrimination and risk in seeking mental healthcare and we strive to mitigate the fears surrounding this brave move you’re making.
Whether you are looking for gentle support or a firm guide, in English, Spanish, or one of the other languages spoken by our clinicians, we will meet you where you are to get you the care that you deserve.
