About me
My goal is to ensure you feel valued, and respected. As a highly experienced and ethical therapist, I will provide personalise, thoughtful care to help teens 13 and above, adults, and seniors address symptoms of depression, anxiety, etc, or just cope with life events.
You will feel safe with me because as a licensed therapist with over 25 years working with all sorts of people, I will truly "see" you, your concerns will not surprise me, and chances are good that I have worked with similar issues in the past. I have direct experience working with symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, ODD, etc. But more importantly, I'm going to tailor our sessions to what you need, based on skills developed over decades, and wisdom to go along with the skills. Even though we are only seeing each online, you are not just a face or a number to me, you are someone in need, and I can help you meet your goals.
I will have availability beginning in July, 2026, and I am very excited about meeting you and helping you learn to feel safe, deepen your trust in the therapeutic process, and help you make changes in your life so that you can find your joy and move from stuck to thriving.
I have worked with children as young as 4 and seniors into their eighties, trauma survivors, military members, LGTBQ? folks, those walking through grief, and those experience symptoms of common mental health disorders. I have experience with multiple therapy approaches, including solution focused (short term), CBT, psychodynamic approaches, play therapy, family systems theory, art therapy, etc. As an approved LCSW supervisor in the state of Virginia, I teach therapists how to be excellent therapists. I love to teach but I am also an astute listener. Be assured, you will not be listening to me talk the whole time. I have years of experience working in public schools, and I can help you with the special education process in Virginia and anything you'd like to know about how the schools can best serve your child.
I am currently earning my M.Div at Virginia Theological Seminary, and hope to be ordained as a pastor within the next 4 years. I am happy to talk about spiritual issues, faith and God, and I am also happy to leave those things out of the conversation completely. Therapy can be hard, and it can definitely be uncomfortable to grow, but it is for you, and I want you feel comfortable with how it is provided.
For teens, I would wish to meet with a parent together with the teen every once in a while. Just because we are online does not mean we can't use approaches other than just talking for the whole time. For adults, we will go at your own pace, but I find weekly therapy is best when services are first starting. Due to potential conflicts, I am unable to see students attending Fauquier County Public Schools. I do not provide court testimony. I do not provide crisis intervention, and I expect my clients to reach out to local emergency services if they are in crisis. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Please do reach out to me, and allow me 24 - 48 hours to get back to you once you reach out. I am looking forward to meeting you.
