A wise man once told me, “Life is like a circle, at different points on the circumference we view the same core.” This reminded of therapy. How at different points on the circumference of our lives, different transitions, losses, relationship issues, or medical issues introduce themselves and we view how our core responds. Sometimes depression, anxiety, anger, and fear arise. We can continue to look away and ignore these responses that interfere with our goals, or we can decide we are going to work with a therapist. Together we embrace that core in ways that help and enrich each point on the circumference.

I specialize in work with adults, mature adults, and older adults working through depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, parenting concerns, ADHD, and life transitions. I also specialize in work with people who have chronic medical conditions and transplant recipients of any kind. My work relies most heavily on Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I will taylor elements of these approaches to the stories you are examining and the goals you are working through.

My practice is a Multicultural one that reflects the world we live in. Although therapy is hard work, I strive to provide an environment that is warm yet direct and offers a strong sense of safety and good humor—as appropriate. Life is many things, right? And funny is sometimes one of them. In this practice you will be seen, heard, valued. I invite you on a journey where accepting who you are while making changes that give you joy is the priority.
