Main Bio
Whether you're a couple trying to find your way back to each other, or an individual seeking healing that goes deeper than talk alone — you're in the right place. I specialize in IFIO (Intimacy From the Inside Out) for couples and IFS-informed somatic psychotherapy for individuals. In-person in Portland; virtual throughout Oregon and Texas.
For couples: Something shifted between you. Maybe it happened slowly—small disconnections that became chasms. Or maybe it was sudden—betrayal, crisis, words that can't be unsaid. Now you're wondering if it's possible to feel truly seen and safe with each other again.
It is. But not by going around the pain—by going through it, together.
Using Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO)—a couples approach built on Internal Family Systems—I help you and your partner understand that the parts of you that fight, withdraw, or hurt each other are trying to protect something precious. When we get curious about those protective parts instead of battling them, real intimacy becomes possible again.
Sometimes the deepest betrayal isn't from another person — it's from your own body. Illness that changed everything. A birth that didn't go as planned. Years of caretaking that left you disconnected from yourself. I specialize in helping you find your way back.
For individuals: If you've noticed that insight alone hasn't freed you—that your body still braces, your nervous system still fires, old patterns still run the show—you're not broken. You're experiencing what happens when trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. With over 35 years of experience in somatic work and training in Somatic Experiencing and Body-Mind Centering®, I help you access the wisdom your body holds and release what no longer serves you.
I offer a space where all parts of you are welcome—including the ones that feel too much, protect too fiercely, or have been in hiding for years.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe lasting change happens when we work with both mind and body. Traditional talk therapy can only take you so far—especially when trauma, disconnection, or old patterns live in your nervous system.
My approach integrates:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — understanding that we all have different "parts" with good intentions, even when they cause problems
Somatic psychotherapy — working with the body's wisdom, sensations, and held experiences
IFIO for couples — bringing IFS into relationship work so both partners can show up with curiosity instead of reactivity
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades as a professional dancer, choreographer, and theater artist. This means I understand in my bones—not just intellectually—that we are embodied beings whose histories live in our tissues and our movements.
