About me
I am an experienced clinical social worker who has worked extensively with clients on issues of trauma. complicated family dynamics, cross cultural adjustment, stressful life transitions and health and aging issues. I use an eclectic and relational approach grounded in empathy.
Raised in Oregon, I have lived most of my adult life in Japan in a cross-cultural marriage. I now bridge two cultures and have a broad perspective on family styles, relationships and cultural values that influence personal development. I understand what it is to be “an outsider” and also what it is to be enriched by facing assimilation challenges. My goal is for clients to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for their own life story and to grow in compassion for themselves and others.
