About me
Sometimes what we need most is a place to be fully heard — without judgment, pressure, or the need to explain ourselves. I provide counseling for adults who are navigating life transitions, emotional overwhelm, stress, identity concerns, grief, and the long-term impact of carrying responsibility for others.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate practicing under supervision in South Carolina. In addition to my mental health clinical training, I have over 20 years of experience as an instructor of sociology, which deeply informs my work. I understand emotional stress not only at the individual level, but within the context of family, culture, race, gender, social class, social roles, and life stage.
My approach to therapy is grounded in steadiness, reflection, and deep respect for the complexity of each person’s life. My clients appreciate working with a therapist who brings maturity, insight, and a calm, respectful presence to the therapeutic relationship as we work together toward understanding, change and whatever comes next.
My work is rooted in a person-centered approach, emphasizing empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive acceptance. Therapy is collaborative and paced with care. I believe healing and growth happens when people feel safe enough to explore their experiences honestly and at their own rhythm.
I work with adults who are ready for thoughtful conversation, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change — without being rushed or judged.
