About me
Hello you! I am so glad that you are here 😉. I am Marcia Deah, co-founder of Therapeutic iDeahs. My husband, Clyde Deah (co-founder), and I opened Therapeutic iDeahs because we both have the same passion … to help others. We strive for our space to be open, welcoming, and laid back. We want you to know, while we are experts in our prospective fields, we are humans first. Our practice is set up to make you feel comfortable when you enter the therapeutic space so you can relax and be you!
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re carrying something heavy—maybe quietly, maybe with a sense that you’re ready for change but unsure how to begin. I want you to know that you’re not alone, and you don’t have to sort through it all on your own. The people I work with are often in seasons of transition. They may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in recurring patterns, or uncertain about who they’re becoming. Some are working through relationship challenges, grief, identity questions, or just trying to understand why life feels harder than it should.
With 10+ years in mental health, I help individuals, couples, and families mend connections & grow. I specialize in healing relational wounds—rather that is siblings, friendships, parent-child, traditional couples or non-monogamous partners. This space is your refuge—a place to feel safe, be seen, and begin your journey toward deeper healing and self-trust.
As your therapist, I hold space not only for your pain, but for your potential. My approach is gentle but structured—rooted in developmental systemic psychology, guided by empathy, and shaped by your unique story. Since you are the expert of your life, my plethora of experience and education will be used as tools to help you navigate your treatment.
A Little Background On Me
I launched my career in 2014 as an intern at a child/young adult residential treatment facility in Quincy, IL while completing my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Quincy University (2015). My curiosity for deeper understanding led me to pursue my Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling, Specialization in Christian Ministries from Liberty University (2017). As doors opened, I discovered my true passion—Couples and Family Therapy. I became a certified Systemic Couples and Family Therapist (2023) and later earned my second Master’s degree, a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy (2024). Now, I serve as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A), under the supervision of Dr. Ashley McErlean, LMFT-S (TX License #202535).
My purpose is to help individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and thrive. Regardless of race, gender, identity, or background, everyone deserves equity, respect, and most of all—love.
