About me

Validation is comforting, but expertise creates change.
Many of my clients come to me after spending years in therapy feeling understood, but still feeling stuck. I provide structured, evidence-based trauma therapy (CPT & PE) paired with genuine warmth to help you move beyond coping day-to-day and into active, lasting recovery.

Ready for More Than Just a Good Listener?

If you have been in therapy before, you already know the value of having a safe space and a supportive sounding board. Feeling validated is a vital first step, but for many people, especially those carrying the weight of trauma or PTSD, validation alone isn't enough to create lasting movement.

You might find yourself asking: Why do I still feel stuck? Why are these symptoms still driving my daily life?

My practice is designed for individuals who are ready to take the next step. I offer an active, structured, and goal-oriented approach to therapy. Together, we don't just talk around your past or focus solely on managing symptoms; we work through a proven clinical roadmap to help your mind process trauma and move forward.

Evidence-Based Care Delivered with Genuine Warmth ...
Taking an active, structured approach doesn't mean therapy should feel cold, rigid, or clinical. I believe the most effective healing happens at the intersection of gold-standard science and deep human connection.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I specialize in evidence-based trauma protocols, including:

--Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): Helping you identify and rewrite the stuck thoughts ("stuck points") around safety, trust, control, and self-blame that trauma leaves behind.
--Prolonged Exposure (PE): Safely reducing the power that trauma memories and triggers hold over your everyday life so you can regain control of your world.

A Comprehensive Toolkit for Co-Occurring Challenges ...
PTSD rarely travels alone. Sleep disruptions, severe distress, and time constraints often complicate the recovery process. To ensure we address the full picture of your well-being, I offer targeted, specialized protocols for concerns that commonly accompany trauma:

--CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I): Chronic sleep issues and nightmares are often the most exhausting parts of trauma, and they frequently persist even as other symptoms improve. CBT-I provides structured, non-medication strategies to reset your sleep cycle and help you get restorative rest.
--Written Exposure Therapy (WET): For those seeking a brief or less verbally intense option, WET is a highly effective, 5-session trauma protocol that uses structured writing exercises to process PTSD efficiently without requiring months of weekly therapy.
--CBT for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP): Specialized, safety-focused interventions designed to help you navigate severe emotional pain, build distress tolerance, and construct a grounded, safe path forward.

My Background & Experience ...
As a licensed psychologist, my approach is grounded in extensive clinical training and specialized experience in high-acuity trauma settings, including years of service within the Veterans Affairs (VA) health system. Working alongside veterans and individuals facing complex post-traumatic stress taught me the profound resilience of the human spirit—and reinforced my commitment to providing care that actually works.

What Working Together Looks Like ...
When you step into my office (or join me virtually), you can expect:
1. A Clear Plan: No wondering what we are doing from week to week. We outline concrete goals and track your progress together.
2. Practical Tools: You will leave sessions with actionable strategies to regulate your nervous system, process distress, and navigate daily triggers.
3. A Relational Partner: You get an expert guide who meets you with empathy, humor, and deep respect every step of the way.
