About me

I am a LCMHC that works with adults on a wide range of diagnoses, which you can read more about in the 'About Me' section below. I strongly believe that therapy is a deeply personal/individualized experience, and so, I strive to tailor therapy to what your specific needs, personality, and goals are. I believe people are the experts on their own lives, and I am here to support you and provide my skill and expertise in a respectful way to assist you in your growth.

Hello! I go by Maddy and I am a licensed clinical mental health clinician (LCMHC) in the state of New Hampshire. I have 7+ years of experience as a clinician. I started out my career working with children and teens for a few years, and then have since permanently transitioned into an adult only therapist. I do occasionally still work with older teenagers on a case by case basis.

I started my own private practice, Brain Waves PLLC, several years ago. I am now offering telehealth only sessions. I have experience in working with diagnoses such as depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, ADHD, Autism in adults who are diagnosed later in life, PTSD, and more.

I often work with clients in the areas of: trauma, relationship issues, parenting, pregnancy, post partum, life stressors and major life
changes, LGBTQIA+ populations, and have dedicated spending time to taking many trainings with regards to cultural competencies.

I like to think that I am a very "down to earth" person and have received feedback from many clients that they feel comfortable and not judged in sessions, which I take very seriously and strive to continue to provide this kind of safe space for everyone.

I am trained in: CBT, narrative therapy, TF-CBT, mindfulness therapy, and trauma informed therapy. I am also familiar with DBT, family systems, among others.

I do not have the training or experience for working with clients with:
-Active addiction, or those less than a year out from recovery
-Those diagnosed with a personality disorder
-Schizophrenia or other diagnoses involving symptoms of delusions or hallucinations.
I want you to recieve the best care, with those clinicians who have extensive training regarding these diagnoses, and for that reason I will likely not be able to take you on as a client, and provide referrals as necessary.

I live in the Lakes Region of NH with my wife. We have three golden retrievers and three cats so I am a big animal lover. I prefer to spend a lot of time outside: camping, gardening, reading, going to the beach, hiking, and taking the dogs swimming. In the winters we ski a lot. I am extremely passionate about mental health and love my job. I am looking forward to meeting with prospective clients and working together.

I accept several types of insurance through my practice, Brain Waves PLLC.
As of August 2025 I accept:
BCBS
Cigna,
Optum
Harvard Pilgrim
United
**It is your responsibility to call/contact your insurance company before starting sessions to confirm with them directly that I am in network, and to inquire about your personal plan's deductible or co-pay before starting sessions. I also go over this in more detail in the new patient paperwork.

My general availability is Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 10AM-4PM. All of my 4-5 pm spots are currently taken on a regularly basis by existing clients.

If you'd like to reach out to start therapy please provide:
- A few sentences describing why you are seeking therapy (to help determine me in screening if I have the correct training/expertise) an example of this would be: "I'm looking for therapy because I have work stress and I have started having panic attacks every night."
-What insurance company you have, or if you'd like information about private pay/out of pocket.
-Acknowledge that you have read my availability and that it generally works with your schedule.
*The only way I schedule sessions is via e-mail.
I hope to hear from you! Take care :)
