About me
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at McKinney Marriage and Family Therapy who provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, grief, life transitions, communication challenges, and emotional well-being, while offering LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodivergent-affirming care.
My name is Maddie Gorniak and I am a graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Appalachian State University. I am currently interning at McKinney Marriage and Family Therapy in Boone, North Carolina under clinical supervision of Mary McKinney, LMFT. I offer telehealth therapy with some possible limited options for in-person or walking sessions. I seek to serve couples in various relationship challenges including addressing infidelity, premarital counseling, last chance couples, parents struggling with co-parenting, couples seeking to improve their relationship, and the complexities of infertility. Seeking to also work with families or parent-child relationships to address behavioral and emotional issues, support developmental challenges, and provide care tailored to neurodiverse individuals, including those diagnosed with conduct disorder or antisocial personality disorder. For individual clients, I focus on helping those navigating trauma, grief, while offering LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodivergent-affirming care. I am committed to maintaining an open and inclusive practice and welcome opportunities to work with diverse populations and presenting concerns.
