About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor committed to guiding individuals through recovery, healing, and personal growth.
My name is Mackenzie Saulnier, and I am a dual-licensed clinician holding credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). I also hold the national Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) credential through NAADAC, which reflects my advanced expertise in the field of addiction counseling. In addition, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a specialized trauma therapy that helps clients process and heal from distressing experiences. Beyond my clinical work, I serve as an adjunct instructor in Colorado State University’s Master of Addiction Counseling in Psychology program, where I enjoy mentoring and teaching future clinicians.
In my practice, I support individuals facing challenges such as addiction, domestic violence, childhood trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, criminal justice involvement, dissociative disorders, and personality disorders. I also have extensive experience working with adolescents, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community as they navigate mental health and addiction concerns.
My counseling style is primarily directive, focusing on accountability, goal-setting, and meaningful change. At the same time, I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel safe, encouraged, and empowered to take steps toward growth.
I believe that seeking counseling is one of the bravest choices a person can make. By prioritizing your well-being in this moment, you are already beginning the path toward healing. It would be my privilege to walk alongside you in this journey, offering compassion, guidance, and partnership as you work toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
