About me
I am a trauma-informed and trained therapist, specializing in treating adults with chronic/complex PTSD, borderline personality, and ADHD. I am dedicated to empowering my clients in self-exploration, reconnecting with their authentic self, and building their life worth living.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience practicing in a variety of settings with diverse populations and a broad-spectrum of diagnoses. Throughout the development of my career and professional values, I have fought against stigma towards specific populations, identified gaps in the resources and care available, and following my personal values, I opened a private practice. This has allowed me to better work toward solutions where they are needed in mental health care. As I learned where my natural talents and passions came together, I sought out specific education and training to refine my clinical skills and apply myself where I feel I can truly help make a difference.
This process has led me to become certified to practice Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with my clients, which is the Golden Standard treatment for borderline personality disorder and has implications in the treatment of various other conditions. The more I used my training in DBT, the more contact I had with trauma and the complex ways it presents. Most people are familiar with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) but too rare are people aware that trauma doesn’t always clearly show itself, and comes in shapes and sizes as unique as the people that I work with. This realization pushed me toward completing my certification to practice Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This specific trauma therapy has gained more recognition over recent years as a popular option for those seeking relief from trauma and stressor-related disorders; however, it can also be used to successfully treat other conditions such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have maintained the goal of identifying missing links in the accessibility to specialized care for populations that need it, but often can’t find it; so, I am now finishing training to become a certified clinical services provider (CCSP) for adults with ADHD.
While these are specific modalities that I use often, I use them with other modalities and with each other as individual needs call for it. These are my specialty areas, but this does not limit my practice in treating only what has been mentioned. I have vast experience in working with depression, anxiety, panic, communication issues, life transitions, crisis intervention, and much more.
We fully understand that there is no one-size-fits-all therapy approach so you won’t find any cut-and-paste treatment plans at Mindwave Therapy. We value the individual, their needs, and their input. We are committed to working alongside our clients every step of the way to ensure that the highest quality of services are being given, and most importantly, that our clients always feel heard and validated, supported, and an active part of their treatment.
My practice is a safe, radically nonjudgmental, and accepting environment for anyone who needs support. Despite my trainings for specific conditions, I have vast experience treating anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and personality disorders in general. I love to teach and guide my clients in interpersonal skills, including establishing boundaries and effectively communicating with others. I find joy in empowering my clients to assert their needs and express themselves freely both in session and in their daily lives.
Motivated clients ready to learn about thought, emotion, and behavior patterns, and develop and integrate practical skills for observable, lasting results are highly encouraged to reach out and take the first step toward building a therapeutic relationship filled with unconditional acceptance and support.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and helping you take the next steps in your journey toward healing!
