About me
Hello! I’m Rayven Owens, and I am an experienced transpersonal psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) in private practice in New York City; I am also licensed in New Jersey, and Connecticut. I help individuals cope with anxiety, depression, ptsd and spiritual/existential issues.
I identify as Afro-Caribbean, with Trinidadian, Arawak, and Carib roots. Having grown up in Brooklyn, I also proudly identify as African American. I am a global traveler, and I host wellness retreats that incorporate traditional indigenous healing methods. Outside of my work, you can find me on the tennis court!
As a transpersonal psychotherapist, I integrate CBT and trauma-informed therapy with deeper contemplative practices such as shadow work. In individual sessions, clients work through cognitive and behavioral challenges while also exploring greater self-awareness and expanded states of consciousness.
During our sessions, I will examine your presenting concerns without assumptions or judgments in a safe, empathetic and confidential environment. I will support you in setting realistic goals towards attaining the life satisfaction you desire. Together, we will turn unhelpful thought patterns into sources of motivation and insight.
