About me
I am an experienced virtual and in-person therapist who meets you where you are, and helps you figure out how to start feeling better!
I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families first in child welfare, and then in the public schools. From there, I started my private practice, Lynn Zakeri LCSW Clinical Services, PLLC which I have owned for over 20 years. My clients have worked through multiple issues, including anxiety, depression, transitions, work ethics/motivation, young adult goal setting, self-esteem, anger, family dysfunction (present or past), marital therapy, new mom stress, social skills, trauma, self-harming, and eating disorders, among others. I enjoy assisting in the progress and achievement of attaining goals. As of September 2022, I am an Illinois Social Worker of the Year, National Association of Social Workers, Illinois!
I have been practicing for 20 years and have been successful at helping many clients move forward, find clarity, and and resolve ongoing issues and conflicts. Whether anxiety or depression, parenting/family relationships or trauma, I help you get to the root of the issue and develop strategies to feel empowered and move forward. I feel that my strengths lie in my ability to make connections and foster a warm relationship, even with those who are apprehensive. I am told I am a good listener, and with that, I can help piece together YOUR story. This is because of the improvements and benefits seen almost immediately.
I know the first call is the hardest. I am really responsive, warm, and genuine while also smart, practical and insightful. I know how hard trusting someone new is. That is up to me to earn, and my intuitive listening skills, combined with my curiosity, lends itself to a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship quickly. I find hope when you can't, I see possibility when you don't, and I support you on your path to self-awareness, self-compassion and self-reflection. I go at your pace, and know when to challenge you and when to observe.
I work hard. I did not add associates to my practice until COVID and that was only because my mission has always been "no dead ends". I make sure you find the right fit for you, for your best interest, because you know yourself best. I answer every inquiry quickly and timely and never stop prioritizing everyone who trusts my practice and works with me/us. If your situation is complicated, I help you disentangle. Call me and feel me out and you will know if it feels right.
Let me know what else I can tell you- there is likely not a situation I have not encountered and I would be honored to be a part of your team.
Ellen Lazar and David Krzysko, my two associates (less fee, more available), are as hard working as I am and have additional expertise in addictions and trauma and David also does EMDR!
When I am not working, I am with my family (my two sons play college soccer) and I have been having a lot of fun doing my Instagram, TikTok and YouTube posts where you can get to know my style even more.
