About me
I have been a licensed psychologist for more than 20 years, expert in CBT, especially Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am so honored to do this work. I am collaborative & client-centered. I provide resources & recommendations every session. You will feel warmly supported & will be an active participant in your own growth. I offer telehealth in California & Florida.
My job is to help you really LIVE your rich and meaningful life, even when life is hard. Stress, anxiety, loss, illness, depression, injustice and other things can narrow our lives. They can cause us to lose joy, momentum, purpose & meaning. I help people grow, rebuild, & find their best life, even amid difficult experiences & emotions. I am committed to evidence-based treatment guided by values of authenticity, kindness, social justice, creativity, curiosity, playfulness, flexibility, & patience. I am proud of my ability to recognize and celebrate people’s strengths and help people build hope & self-compassion. I have lived with my own anxiety and depression, and I have been a caregiver to family members with these and other challenges. I know what it’s like to work with great therapists and some not-so-great ones. I am continuing to learn how to live my own rich and meaningful life. Helping others is a beautiful and humbling part of that.
I have a special love for working with creatives – musicians, artists, actors.
I am a staunch ally of the LGBTQI+ community.
I have a passion for (and a lot of experience) being a therapist for other therapists and health care providers.
I find supporting people through grief especially meaningful.
I have advanced specialty training in Clinical Geropsychology and Healthy Aging, however I love working with adults of all ages... 18 to 118!
Although I have been doing this work for a long time (licensed since 2011), private practice is a relatively new adventure for me. I was a training director in an APA accredited internship in Clinical Psychology and Lead Psychologist in a well-respected hospital for over a decade. I am also a professional consultant/trainer. In these roles, I trained 100's of clinicians, providing over 10,000 hours of clinical supervision focused on ACT and other evidence-based treatments. If you look at my Psychology Today profile you will see endorsements from many psychologists and other therapists, most of whom were/are my mentees. Many of my referrals come from people I have trained - including their friends and family. I cannot think of anything I am prouder of or more humbled by.
I offer concierge-style practice. I do a thorough intake & we build a plan together that is tailored to you and rooted in compassion and good science. I am collaborative & client centered. I will listen deeply and help you understand yourself. We will practice tools in session. I will provide resources & recommendations every session so you can learn & practice between sessions. You will feel warmly supported & will be an active participant in your own growth. Don't be surprised if you receive a secure email or text from me between sessions, encouraging your growth, offering additional tailored tips and resources. Most folks are in therapy for 15 to 20 sessions, plus/minus depending on your needs & wishes. I'm committed to keeping clients in therapy only as long as needed to accomplish their goals. That is a promise.
My practice is private pay (credit, debit, venmo, zelle, check). I'll provide a receipt (aka a “superbill”). If you have out of network benefits you can request reimbursement from your insurance. If my rates are out of reach, talk to me. I may have reduced rate spots available. I would like to work with you.
Please look at my website and/or reach out if you would like more information. I am happy to offer a free 30-minute consultation to answer questions. It is important that we can decide together if there is a good fit. I hope to hear from you!
