About me
Hello! My name is Luna Dreamer, I'm a transgender woman and long time therapy client who started their own private practice to provide quality telehealth counseling to those without insurance or for people whose insurance is inadequate.
Sometimes when people are forced to endure abuse or toxic environments over a long period of time, especially in childhood, they can develop ways of coping that are highly specialized to that environment. Unfortunately it can sometimes be difficult to change these habits once a person is no longer in that environment. I focus on what my clients want to work on and use my knowledge of psychology with my experience in working with diverse populations to help clients find relief from their mental health symptoms. I believe strongly in being kind, taking clients at their word, and helping them identify their strengths. This isn't to say I believe in mindless flattery, but if a client wished to be "less annoying" then one could also likely say that the client wishes to be "more conscientious" which provides an easier framework to work from.
I offer generalized outpatient telehealth talk therapy, meaning I accept clients with a wide variety of symptoms and I have experience both living with and treating clients with serious mental health issues such as major depression, Bipolar, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. I also have experience with working with clients who are neurodivergent (ADHD/Autism) and practice from the monotropism theory of autism. I offer free 15-20 minute phone/telehealth consults to answer questions related to my experience working with a specific disorder or set of symptoms, I'm also happy to answer questions about working with a specific population. These questions can also be asked via e-mail.
I also specialize in working with specific populations that are generally under served within professional counseling spaces such as: The transgender community, the polyamorous/ethical non-monogamy community, those with chronic illnesses (Long covid, ME, MS, chronic pain, other fatigue disorders), the kink community (D/s power exchange relationships, abdl, etc), as well as the Furry and Therian communities.
No AI. Out of respect for the communities under threat from data centers, creative professionals such as writers and artists who've had their work stolen, and due to the risks to client privacy we do not use AI (LLMs) in any part of the counseling process or allow client records to be stored in a system that could allow AI training.
