I am a warm, straight forward & occasionally a funny therapist who will ask you a lot of questions to help you find your own authentic answers & connect to parts of yourself you may have kept hidden. I work with adults & couples on improving communication (finding the root of the issue) processing emotions & reactivity, healing old wounds, boundaries, ADHD, Ethical Non Monogamy, Perimenopause, Inner Child Work and Actors. I find importance in childhood wounds that affect our present day. I will help you explore & reframe perspectives which may have been formed through a wounded filter, in order to do deep, honest work & achieve meaningful change.
I speak plainly & provide a non-judgmental, safe environment where we can explore at your pace using traditional talk therapy and/or EMDR. I use an eclectic approach drawing on multiple theoretical orientations in order to tailor the most effective treatment for you (and your partner) to develop self love, learn new coping skills, heal and grow.
Whether you are navigating relationship issues, life transitions or trying to understand why you are in pain, it is healing to be seen, heard & accepted. This is what I strive to create in our therapeutic relationship while you learn to break repetitive destructive patterns & develop a compassionate understanding of yourself.
I believe sometimes we learn early on that in order to stay safe we need to hide parts of who we really are and to not express our needs. Sometimes we do this too well and for too long. We can work together so you learn to re-connect to those parts of yourself that have stayed hidden. We can work to develop the ability to understand what your needs are and how have them met, boundaries. The body is designed to propel itself towards health like it does when healing a cut on the skin or getting better from a cold. The same is true for our brain & our mental health. We are designed to heal.
