About me
I’m Lori Long, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate providing virtual therapy to teens and adults throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. I believe therapy should feel human, not clinical, scripted, or one-size-fits-all. I’m passionate about creating a space where people can speak freely, understand themselves more deeply, and leave therapy with something they can actually use in real life.
I specialize in working with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, anger, substance use concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Using CBT, narrative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches, I help clients recognize patterns, challenge thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving them, and develop practical strategies for moving forward.
My clinical background includes both direct therapeutic care and clinical leadership, giving me experience supporting people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. But credentials and techniques are only part of good therapy. I believe people also need to feel seen, heard, respected, and comfortable enough to tell the truth about what’s really going on.
You won’t find a one-size-fits-all approach here. We may work on boundaries, coping skills, relationships, emotional regulation, changing unhealthy patterns, rebuilding confidence, or simply figuring out what comes next. The goal is not to keep you in therapy forever—it’s to help you develop greater insight, stronger tools, and confidence in your ability to navigate your life.
Therapy Is a Verb reflects how I practice: insight is important, but change happens when we begin putting that insight into action.
If you’re ready for therapy that is supportive, collaborative, and focused on real-life change, I invite you to reach out and schedule a consultation.
