About me
Thank you for stopping by to read my profile! I am a licensed (doctoral-level) clinical psychologist who utilizes an integrative, wellness-based approach to working with children (ages 7+), adolescents, and adults. I am trained in a variety of cognitive-behavioral, existential/spiritual, and family/systems therapies. I work with individuals in the context of therapies to address depression/mood; specific phobias and/or general anxiety; social and performance-based anxiety; attentional issues/executive functioning & ADHD; emotion/self-regulation; school adjustment; grief/loss; relational issues/trauma; and career-planning/job transitions. I view therapy as a collaborative process, intended to enhance personal understanding, empower problem-solving, and promote values-driven behavior change. I love my work with children, adolescents (a passion!), and adults; particularly within this office/practice, which may best be described along the lines of prevention/early intervention & wellness.
Experienced, doctoral-level psychologist who has worked at all levels of care (inpatient, residential, outpatient, triage/crisis management, military, & dance/wellness settings) with children (ages 4+), adolescents, & adults. Specialty areas included: attentional/executive-functioning issues & ADHD; depression & mood disorders; anxiety (social, generalized, & panic); school adjustment (i.e., transition to middle school, high school, college, & graduate school); grief/loss; relational trauma; and career/job transitions. Trained with Steven Hayes, Ph.D. & Kelly Wilson, Ph.D., developers of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and with Frank Anderson, M.D., of Internal Family Systems (IFS). ACT and IFS are foundational to Dr. Huett-Larson's therapeutic framework/approach. In addition, Dr. Huett-Larson is trained in traditional cognitive-behavioral therapies, graduated exposure, mindfulness-based CBT, Vipassanna meditation, and somatic/movement-based therapies.
