About me
Welcome! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience providing compassionate psychotherapy to individuals facing ato individuals facing complex challenges. I love my work and am grateful to do it. This gratitude fuels my dedication to helping clients create lasting change and to continuously developing my skills. I help clients (over the age of 18) with a range of concerns, including: relationship and family dynamics, depression and anxiety management, and trauma.
I believe each person is unique and complex, with their own strengths, challenges, and contradictions. My aim is to offer a welcoming, compassionate space enabling you to bring all parts of yourself to promote healing and lasting positive change. My therapeutic approach integrates body awareness, specific, evidence-based techniques, and traditional talk therapy. This combination helps to bring you relief, clarity, and foster resilience and thoughtful responses instead of automatic/impulsive reactions.
I primarily utilize the following specialized modalities: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): This method helps the brain process and resolve distressing memories that lead to negative beliefs about yourself or the world enabling you to develop a more realistic and positive view of yourself. Inner Relationship Focusing (IRF): IRF helps you address and resolve internal conflicts, allowing you to quiet the noise of your inner critic, get unstuck and access a deep well of self-compassion. Somatic Experiencing (SE): This technique teaches you to track physical sensations, build your capacity for self-regulation,and move away from automatic, reactive states.
I begin the therapuetic process by seeking to understand your concerns from your point of view. Next, we'll explore how past experiences may be shaping your current thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Then, we'll identify what's going well in your life and what you want to change. Finally, I will recommend the best therapeutic approach to bring relief and lasting change. Together we will decide the best path forward, making adjustments along the way to ensure your needs are met.
