About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who is experienced working with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds. My experience includes helping clients address issues related to grief and loss, anxiety, depression, self-worth, stress management, and adjustment issues and life transitions.
I believe in a holistic view of counseling and looking at the whole person to include emotional, physical, social and spiritual areas of life. My approach to counseling is an integration of strengths based, humanistic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, trauma-informed, solution focused and reality therapies. In essence, I believe in an eclectic approach to therapy and that effective therapy is flexible and involves various techniques that are tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.
In addition to traditional counseling techniques, I also utilize motivational interviewing and principles of Positive Psychology such as journaling and mindfulness to help clients experience positive growth, make healthy choices and build resiliency.
My desire is to create a non-judgmental and collaborative space where we can work together to reach the goals you have established for yourself. I strive to empower you to process your feelings, gain control over negative thoughts, manage life stressors, increase happiness and lead a more meaningful and productive life.
