About me
Linnette is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) dedicated to helping individual clients with anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, relationship issues, adjustments to life changes, women specific issues, and more through individual and group counseling.
People were made for relationships. We were not made to "do life" alone. Many emotional disregulations and mental health issues are rooted in loss, shame, and/or trauma from essential relationships whether parental, sibling, friendship, dating, spouse, mentor, etc. For Linnette, relationship is integral or vital to life and, therefore, foundational for successful counseling. Building trust or rapport with a client is key and the first thing on which she focuses. Utilizing motivational interviewing (MI), she begins in interpersonal theory and then integrates tools and techniques from CBT, ACT, and more. Linnette believes an eclectic approach for the formation of individualized counseling care is vital for the client's success in reaching their therapeutic goals since every client has their own unique history, providences, personalities, learning styles, and issues. Counseling should never be one-size-fits-all.
While Linnette has a heart for women who have experienced relationship trauma, she counsels all adults, ages 18-80 and beyond. Her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to depression, anxiety, complex post-traumatic stress disorder & PTSD, self-image issues, grief & loss (death, health, relationships, job, etc.), as well as spiritual counseling. She offers a free 15 minute phone consultation to answer questions which might help alleviate any concerns or confusion about counseling that the client may have.
Linnette earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, graduating summa cum laude from Columbia International University (CIU) in May, 2021. She went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in counseling from CIU - a CACREP program in clinical mental health counseling, in May, 2024. She became licensed in the state of South Carolina as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in June, 2024, and is available at the BOH Gaston site (BOHG) with limited availability at the BOH Lexington site. She is the Assistant Director at BOHG, as well as assists where she can with their Celebrate Recovery program. Linnette looks forward to serving you.
