About me
With 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in helping individuals in Texas navigate the complexities of anxiety, emotional regulation, and relationship difficulties, particularly those rooted in childhood trauma and abusive relationships.
You’re constantly putting other’s needs ahead of your own, but the people-pleasing only goes so far, and it’s never enough. Helping others used to make you happy but the balance has been lost. The worry about what others will think and how you might make them feel has become too much, leading to emotional and physical burnout. Feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions is a heavy burden to carry, but for some reason, it’s hard to put that burden down. You’ve started to believe that eventually, everyone will leave when you aren't useful to them anymore.
Together, we’ll explore the origin of why you do not feel good enough and the past events that created those feelings and behaviors. Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll work to decrease intense emotions or reactions to those past events. By facing the past, you can learn how it impacts the present and make changes to provide a better future.
I have a particular passion for working with adults who struggle to set and maintain boundaries—often lovingly referred to as a “boundary queen” by my clients. I believe that establishing clear boundaries is key to healthy relationships and emotional well-being. While my specialty is childhood trauma, I also emphasize the importance of self-compassion and self-love in the healing process. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify goals and move forward in treatment at a pace that feels right for them.
In addition to counseling, I offer psychological testing services to help assess conditions such as adult ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, and personality disorders. With several years of experience in psychological testing, I use assessments as a tool to gain a clearer understanding of the complexity that mental health can present. Often, symptoms of various diagnoses can overlap, which may lead to misdiagnosis and, ultimately, improper treatment—especially when it comes to medication management. Many of my clients seek testing to receive a more accurate diagnosis, which can help facilitate a smoother process for being matched with the right treatment, including medication.
I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions Monday through Thursday to accommodate your schedule and provide flexible access to therapy. Take charge of your life by leaving your past traumatic events in the past. Begin to feel confident in yourself and learn to develop healthy relationships. Cultivate peace of mind and reclaim your energy. Call today to schedule an appointment and start making positive change for your future.
