About me
I have been a clinical social worker for over 10 years and have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds as they navigate stressful life events, adjust to a new circumstances, or are wanting to develop a better understanding of themselves. I provide individual therapy services that are tailored to the unique needs, values, and goals of each person I work with.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy because they are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, seeking relief from anxiety or depression, needing support as they adjust to a new life circumstance, or are wanting to develop a better understanding of themselves. While we don’t have control over some circumstances in life, we can work to optimally navigate what comes our way.
During therapy, I frequently look at the interplay between your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions and how they affect your daily experiences. My background and theoretical orientation are heavily influenced by cognitive behavioral therapy with elements of mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies. As we work together, I can offer tools and concepts that may be helpful for responding more effectively to difficult emotions, coping with stressors, improving relationships, and changing unhelpful patterns. My goal is to create a non-judgmental and supportive space for exploration and change and to help people get back to living a more meaningful and enjoyable life.
