About me

I am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor dedicated to helping children understand behaviors, emotions and develop language and skills to put to those emotions in an attempt to build a health self concept.

Leslie S. Barry is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor engaged in private practice providing mental health services to clients directly and as an independent provider for various managed care companies. Leslie graduated from Lindenwood University in 2010, with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling. She has provided mental health services since that time. She is licensed by the state of Missouri as a professional counselor and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. Additionally, Leslie is certified with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a professional School Counselor (K-12). Leslie completed the education, training, and supervision to become a Registered Play Therapist – Supervisor and applies theory to empower her clientele to a sense of wellbeing. Leslie has served as a Teen Connect counselor for Hazelwood East High School. Additionally, she has served as a guest speaker for law enforcement officers at the State of Missouri DARE conference. Leslie created a HEROES program which utilizes group play therapy techniques to educate and support children of first responders. Additionally, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Leslie is a member of numerous psychological organizations and collaborates with many community agencies to meet the needs of her clients.
