About me
Sometimes talking to someone who understands what you’re going through and speaks your language can make all the difference. As a clinical psychologist, military Veteran, and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community I understand the issues that can arise regarding identity, self-esteem, health and safety, transitioning from military to civilian life, and concerns regarding sexual and gender identity.
My areas of focus involve the treatment of addictive disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression-related issues. I have extensive experience in the treatment of military Veterans and persons experiencing addiction, both chemical and behavioral, with a strong focus on Gambling Disorder and Compulsive Sexual Behavior. I have worked extensively with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and provide gender-affirming care for members of that community who seek counseling.
My Background and Approach
My approach to general therapy is strengths-based and heavily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Enhancement. I am experienced in trauma-related treatments such as Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy as well as dual-diagnosis approaches to treating substance use disorders and trauma at the same time.
Sessions are held over Telehealth from anywhere in New York. I offer a free, initial consultation session that will give us the opportunity to get to know each other better, to discuss what your needs are, and how I may be able to meet those needs.
Change begins today, and I am here to help!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see therapy is a collaborative relationship built on respect and trust, and my primary goal is to help you make the changes you’d like to see in your life. To that end, I encourage you to take advantage of a free 60-minute consultation so we can both explore how we’ll work together and how I can help make you realize the changes you’d like to see.
