My clinical path has allowed me to gain significant knowledge and experience in the field of mental health and counseling and I am identified as a trauma specialist with over 20+ years of experience. I provide ongoing counseling in the areas of individual (children, adolescents, and adults), family, marital/couple, and group treatments with a focus on the specialty areas and psychopathology of PTSD/trauma, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, bereavement/loss, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, suicide prevention, couple/marital/pre-marital, and compassion fatigue/secondary traumatic stress with first responders.
In addition, I specialize in an eclectic modality of therapy utilizing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, BLAST, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness. Along with providing psychotherapy, I train, consult, and speak to agencies and organizations on Compassion Fatigue and Burnout, Suicide Prevention, PTSD and Trauma, Workplace/Campus Violence, and the Importance of Wellness.
