About me
I’m a compassionate therapist who specializes in guiding individuals, couples, and families through healing from trauma, life transitions, and emotional distress, while fostering self-discovery, clarity, and purpose.
Hello, I’m Lawrence. I believe that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and genuinely accepted. Whether you are seeking clarity in a time of uncertainty, healing from trauma, navigating relationship struggles, or searching for a deeper sense of self, I offer a compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions with honesty and care.
My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in empathy. I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families work through life transitions, emotional pain, grief, and identity-related challenges. I also work closely with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, spiritual and existential concerns, and those recovering from religious or racial trauma.
I hold a Limited License in Clinical Social Work (LLMSW), and my background combines traditional mental health training with holistic and spiritual care, including experience in chaplaincy and community-based healing. This gives me a unique perspective on how our emotional, psychological, relational, and spiritual selves intersect. I understand how deeply our past and cultural contexts influence how we move through the world, and I work to honor the complexity of each person's story.
Many of the people I work with describe feeling stuck or overwhelmed by the weight of past or present experiences. Some have difficulty trusting themselves or others. Some feel lost in the process of trying to make big life decisions. Others are simply longing for a space where they can drop the mask and be fully themselves. In our work together, I invite you to bring all parts of yourself. There is no need to perform or explain away your pain. Here, your truth is welcome.
In session, I strive to create a calm, grounding, and nonjudgmental environment where you can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to your specific needs, including mindfulness-based approaches, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and somatic practices. I believe in working collaboratively, which means your voice, your pace, and your goals are central to the process. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. It is a dynamic relationship that evolves as you grow.
I have particular experience supporting clients navigating:
Trauma, including racial and religious trauma
Identity exploration, including gender, racial, and cultural identity
Anxiety, stress, and panic
Depression and mood challenges
Life transitions and existential concerns
Relationship issues, couples and family dynamics
Spiritual questioning and deconstruction
Grief and loss
My clients often tell me they appreciate my calm presence, my ability to hold space for complex emotions, and the sense of trust and safety they feel in our work together. I believe that healing happens not only through insight but through the experience of being held and witnessed with compassion.
You may be feeling unsure or hesitant about starting therapy. That is completely okay. It takes courage to ask for help and to imagine a different kind of life for yourself. You might wonder if your story is too heavy or if your pain is valid. Let me assure you, your pain matters, your healing is possible, and you do not have to do this alone.
Whether you are new to therapy or returning to the process, we will work together to identify what matters most to you and what healing might look like on your terms. Our work may involve understanding your patterns, exploring your past, building new coping tools, or simply sitting with what is and learning to be kinder to yourself in the process.
At its core, therapy is about connection: to your story, to your strengths, and to your sense of purpose. It is about making space for growth, even when growth feels uncertain or slow. It is about discovering what is possible when you give yourself permission to show up honestly and be supported.
You do not need to have everything figured out to begin. You are not too broken or too far behind. You are not alone in what you are feeling. There is hope and there is help.
If you feel called to begin this journey, I would be honored to walk beside you.
Let’s begin where you are.
