About me
Clients can expect to feel heard, understood, and validated. I support clients in building a personalized wellness toolbox by teaching a variety of healthy coping skills and practical strategies to support overall well-being.
My name is Laura Klockner, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in New Jersey with nearly 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I work primarily with adults ages 18 and older, including older adults, who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and postpartum adjustment. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University and a Master’s degree in Counseling Services from Rider University.
Throughout my career, I have gained experience across a variety of settings, including community-based programs, outpatient services, group homes, and telehealth. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients develop effective coping strategies for managing life’s stressors. Personal experience as a mother to two young children, including welcoming a first child during the COVID-19 pandemic, has further deepened understanding of the emotional complexities of parenthood.
My greatest strength is a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach that allows for truly listening and gaining a clear understanding of what clients are experiencing. I focus on turning that understanding into action by empowering clients with practical coping skills, wellness tools, and supportive resources, while offering consistent encouragement throughout the healing journey.
